It's raining, it's pouring...

It's that time of the year when it starts to rain... and it's still raining... two days later, it's still falling from the sky! We get stressed customers calling us to ask if we can fit them in last minute because "It's pouring with rain and we planned on using a trailer! I don't think that's going to go down to well..." or "It's cold and wet and the offer of help has coincidentally 'hurt his back'. Can you please help us!?" Luckily, it's the end of Winter and we are still coming out of our quiet season which differs alot from the warmer seasons where requests come in from every direction. We generally have space for the last minute 'Please help us!' bookings.

If you are planning on moving before the long summer days come waltzing back from their holiday in the tropics and would like your move to go a bit less wet and a lot more pleasant, here a two handy tips!

Firstly, all of this rain has nicely seeped it's way into your wooden outdoor furniture, pooled into the poles of climbing frames and made a nice cosy bed in your son's trampoline mats. In between the showers, put your gummies on and dismantle all of your outdoor furniture and structures, dry them and place them under cover. This may be under a porch, in the garage or throw a few tarpaulins over top and anchor down with some rocks. That way, when they go onto the truck, the water won't run on down to your not so water friendly furniture (beds, lounge suits or boxes). Sidenote: We sell mattress and couch protectors which will double your protection of moving-in-the rain-ness.

Secondly, if your front stairs or deck is anything like ours, it has grown a nice layer of pretty green moss. As beautiful as it is, it creates a seriously slippery surface which slows the boys right down as they maneuver their way over it, slowing them down ten fold. A good idea is to spray it with weed/moss killer a few weeks beforehand or to have a go at it with a bristled brush and a bit of elbow grease. The boys will thank you for it!
